Suits for the homeless

People with unwanted suits in Leeds are being encouraged to donate them to the homeless. The project, A Suit for Success, has been set up to help the 80% of homeless wanting to find a job to support themselves.

Emmaus Leeds is one of three charities working with tailoring company A Suit That Fits helping people in the region get back to work. The charity gives them skills and confidence to enter the job market, but as people rarely have something to wear they hope this helps improve that first impression.

Those who donate a suit will get a £50 tailoring voucher. If you are interested in donating then you can hand in your suit at Emmaus Leeds (St Mary’s Street, Lincoln Green, Leeds, LS9 7DP) until Friday 6th April.

Wearing a suit has a massive effect on confidence, especially when looking for work. If we can help individuals to feel more confident when going to interviews, and therefore increase their chances of getting a job, then the campaign will have been a resounding success.
