The Falklands War 30 years on

On April 2 1982, without warning, Argentina invaded the Falkland Islands and claimed them as their own. It followed more than a century of dispute over the tiny British outpost. A Task Force was sent to the South Atlantic to reclaim the islands and a brief, but very bitter war followed.

More than two hundred British servicemen died, almost 700 Argentinian lives lost. Thirty years on and for those who served the memories are still very much alive. This week on Calendar we have three special reports on the conflict.
