North Yorkshire Moors Railway worker killed

British Transport Police have confirmed that a member of staff working on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway has been killed. Paramedics also attended but the man, who is believed to be in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is understood he was crushed between two engines at about 12.30pm today. An investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the man’s death. The Rail Accident Investigation Branch has been informed.
