There are claims that around 350 jobs may be at risk at one of the region's biggest caravan manufacturers. It is understood that Willerby Holiday Homes, in Hull, has sent a form to the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, giving notice that 350 people are at risk of redundancy.
Willerby is understood to have told local MPs that the move is "purely precautionary", "not definite" and will give the company "flexibility". It is believed the move is a response to the Chancellor's proposal to levy 20% VAT on static caravans from October.
