Aspirin is being over-prescribed to treat a common heart condition - according to a Leeds GP. In a new report Dr Mark Davis says patients with atrial fibrillation are at risk of stroke by taking the drug - and should be prescribed other treatments instead.

Figures show over 64 thousand people in Leeds alone suffer with AF, with over 98 thousand stroke cases reported. Nearly 15 thousand strokes were a result of atrial fibrillation, costing over 175 million pounds.
