Sweet-toothed thieves

Thieves have broken into a beach kiosk and stole thousands of sticks of seaside rock. Around £500-worth of the confectionery was taken from the vending hut in Bridlington, East Yorkshire. Humberside Police said the burglars smashed a padlock and cleared out virtually all the stock.

A force spokeswoman said the burglary was discovered by the owner when she arrived to open up. The spokeswoman said she had no idea what the thieves would do with the haul.
