Disorder in Lincoln despite cancellation of game

A friendly fixture between Lincoln and Leicester was cancelled on Saturday because the police had received reports that there could be people travelling to the city to cause disorder.

Despite the fixture being cancelled, two large groups of known trouble makers were present in the city from Lincoln and Leicester. Police dealt with an incident of disorder on Guildhall Street when rival supporters clashed. Chairs and tables were used during the fight which broke out.

Two men from Leicester were arrested for Public Order offences. Throughout the day a total of seven dispersal notices were issued to men from both Lincoln and Leicester, instructing them to leave the city centre.
