One eyed cat nominated for award

Midge

A one-eyed rescue cat from Bradford whose sporting prowess has seen her become an unlikely film star is in the running for a national award.

Thirteen-year-old Midge shot to fame after appearing in a short film called "The Great Race" about her racing her owner, Martin Humphreys, to the shops which was shown at the Cannes Film Festival.

Now the tortoiseshell feline has been shortlisted in the Outstanding Rescue Cat category in next week's Cats Protection National Cat of the Year Awards.
