Baby named after Jess Ennis

Beatrice Jessica Lee

Athletics fans Henry and Emily Lee were meant to be inside the Olympic Stadium when Jessica Ennis won the heptathlon - instead they were welcoming their baby daughter into the world.

To honour the Olympian, from Sheffield, the couple named their baby - Beatrice Jessica Lee - after Team GB's golden girl.

Ennis sent her congratulations to the Lees, after Beatrice's aunt Tweeted her.

Although Beatrice was only 20 minutes old when Ennis won her medal, Henry made sure she was sitting with him in front of a television at Bath Hospital to watch the athlete's special moment.
