Free school parents protest

Parents of children due to start at a new free school in Bradford are staging a protest. They are angry that the government has pulled funding for the One In A Million school just days before it was due to open at Valley Parade.

Bradford Free School funding pulled.

The Department for Education says it hopes the One in a Million Free School in Bradford will open in 2013, despite having its funding pulled this year.

“Before any new schools open their doors, we have to be sure that all the conditions we set have been met. Setting up a Free School is a difficult task and we thank One in a Million for all their hard work.''
