Firefighters in South Yorkshire spent over 6 hours tackling a large blaze involving around 200 railway sleepers after they caught fire late on Tuesday evening.
Around 25 firefighters were called to the blaze, behind Trackwork, just off Sandall Lane in Kirk Sandall at around 10.45pm. A pile of timber sleepers 12ft high was well alight, and crews used two Light Portable Pumps to take water from the nearby River Don to douse the flames
The fire was finally out at around this morning at 5.45am. It is thought the fire was started deliberately.
