Princess Royal to open Diamond Wood in York

The Princess Royal is visiting York to officially open a new community Diamond Wood at the University of York as part of the celebrations to mark The Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

The Woodland Trust chose the 60 acre site at Kimberlow Hill as one of just 60 Diamond Woods in the UK - one for each year of the Queen's reign. The site will become home to a range of wildlife and provide an open space for people to visit.

The Princess Royal will plant a ceremonial oak tree to officially declare it open.
