The Vulcan XH588 will tour various airports today near to sites that played a significant part in the development and service of the famous Cold War plane.

The Avro Vulcan XH588 -The Spirit of Great Britain - is the only example of the 134 Avro Vulcan V bombers which were operated by the RAF from 1953 until 1984. The XH588 served with the RAF between 1960 and 1985 in the bomber and air-to-air refuelling roles.
The RAF operated XH588 as a display aircraft from 1986 until 1992, when budget cuts forced its retirement.
