North Yorkshire MP William Hague today tried to seize back Benjamin Disraeli for the Tories, after Ed Miliband last week claimed the "One Nation" phrase for Labour.
Mr Miliband, who represents Doncaster North, mentioned the phrase 46 times in 65 minutes in his party conference speech in Manchester.
But in a speech to the Conservative Party conference in Birmingham today, Foreign Secretary William Hague said:
"To borrow a turn of phrase, we were led by Disraeli, our predecessors knew Disraeli, Disraeli's beliefs were Conservative through and through, and, Ed Miliband, you are no Disraeli."
England should have a 'regional government for the North', a West Yorkshire MP has claimed.
MPs from the region have clashed in the Commons over calls to allow 16 and 17-year-olds to vote.
Ministers deny claims by a Yorkshire MP that talks aimed at securing affordable insurance cover for flood risk homes are 'in disarray'.
