A South Yorkshire MP who lost his wife to cancer will run the London Marathon next year to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
It will be the third time Dan Jarvis has taken on the 26.2 mile challenge.
The Labour MP for Barnsley Central said he wanted to raise "as much money as possible" as well as raising awareness about early diagnosis of cancer.
He added: “We must be bold in our attempts to combat the disease and if I can play my small part next April then I will be proud to do so”.

MPs from the region have clashed in the Commons over calls to allow 16 and 17-year-olds to vote.
Ministers deny claims by a Yorkshire MP that talks aimed at securing affordable insurance cover for flood risk homes are 'in disarray'.
