Players' anger at Serbia racism

English footballers and the FA have condemned the racism and violence at the end of the under-21 match between England and Serbia. A Doncaster player was among those abused.

Player's racism claims

Fresh claims of racism are once more casting a shadow over international football. Danny Rose, the Doncaster born England Under-21 footballer, says he wants Serbia banned from international competition after he was racially abused during a match last night.

The 22 year-old claims he was hit by stones thrown from the crowd, who also chanted monkey noises at him. He also says he was slapped by some of the Serbian players after the game as violence broke out on the pitch.

The English FA have submitted a complaint to Uefa, but their Serbian counterparts say the claims are "malevolent", and that it was Rose who was to blame. Frazer Maude reports.
