New stadium for Wakefield Trinity Wildcats given the go-ahead

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats' new stadium has finally been given the official go-ahead by the government.

The development on the site of the former Newmarket Colliery near junction 30 of the M62 was given provisional approval in June following a public inquiry. The 12,000 capacity stadium, which will also provide community sports facilities, should be ready for the start of the 2015 Super League season.
