More than 50,000 people are expected to turn out to watch the street theatre at Huddersfield's Festival of Light.
The event runs from today until Sunday.
As part of the action there will be a high wire performance above the rooftops of St George's Square, an open air disco in the Open Market and 3m tall illuminated puppet.
– Cllr Peter McBride, Cabinet Member for Place
Festival of Light is one of Kirklees' biggest events of the year and is one that people look forward to for months. Over the years the festival has expanded from a one night show to a weekend full of entertainment, which last year brought in excess of 50,000 people into Huddersfield.
As always, festival goers will need to wrap up warm to enjoy the festivities - we hope everyone has a great time!
