Response from prison service re Lincoln jail
– Michael Spurr, chief exec National Offender Management ServiceI acknowledge that the performance at HMP Lincoln has declined. This is not acceptable and we have taken urgent action to address the Chief Inspector's concerns. The (prison's) governor has been replaced and measures are being implemented at pace to improve safety, decency and regime provision across the prison.
The governor of the jail was replaced earlier this year with new incumbent Peter Wright.
