The panel reviewing the decision to stop children's heart surgery in Leeds is meeting in the city. The Independent Configuration Panel has been asked by the Health Secretary, Jeremy Hunt, to look at the closure of the unit.

The Joint Committee of Primary Care Trusts made the announcement earlier this year that surgery at the region's only paediatric cardiac unit would close, meaning patients have to travel to Newcastle or Liverpool for treatment.
