Barnsley have sacked manager Keith Hill after their home defeat to Blackburn sent the club to the bottom of the nPower Championship table.
The 43 year old has come under increasing pressure in recent weeks and earned a stay of execution following his side's Boxing Day win at Millwall, but the Tykes slumped to a seventh home league defeat of the season today after losing 3-1 to manager-less Blackburn.
Barnsley are now searching for their fourth manager in three and a half years following the departure of the former Blackburn defender who replaced previous boss Mark Robins in June 2011. Hill's assistant David Flitcroft has also lost his job.
