Husband charged over farmhouse murder

A 71-year-old man has been charged withthe murdering his wife at a farmhouse in north Nottinghamshire.

Peter Thurgarland, of Low Farm in thevillage of Maplebeck, near Southwell, is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court tomorrow.

Julia Thurgarland, who was 70 years old, was found at their home at around 3.50pm on Friday 28 December 2012.

A Home Office post-mortem examination revealed she has been strangled.
