Over 3500 runners sign up for Yorkshire Marathon

More than 3500 thousand runners have already signed up for the first Yorkshire Marathon just 36 hours after it was launched.

Organiser Mike Tomlinson says he's never known one of the Jane Tomlinson For All events take off in this way and that the sign-up has already exceeded expectations. Runners from Australia, New Zealand and the Caribbean have already bagged a place.

It takes place in York in October and is the biggest event in memory of Mike's wife Jane since she lost her battle with cancer in 2007.
