City of York Council is inviting anyone named George, Georgina or Georga Hudson to be their special guests at its new headquarters next month. Why? They're opening the George Hudson boardroom, a former Mayor of York.
The room is being reopened as part of the council's move into West Offices, which was formerly York's previous railway station. The station was designed by GT Andrews in 1840 and was the vision of George Hudson. The boardroom will host council or public meetings.**
