Man of Steel gets first coat of paint
Sheffield's man of steel gets his first coat of paint at a car bodyshop in the city. This is a model of the real thing that will eventually sit beside the M1 at Meadowhall. It will be around 30 metres tall and made of stainless steel in recognition of Sheffield's manufacturing heritage.
Once the undercoat is complete this model will be given a chrome finish to give people an idea of how the real thing will look. It's hoped to have the sculpture in place in the next two years.
