Beverley relief road starts

Clearance work has started on the controversial £27 million overhaul of Beverley's transport network.

The multi-million pound scheme includes the long-awaited and much-needed Beverley Southern Relief Road as well as amendments to the Grovehill junction, Swinemoor roundabout and the Flemingate level crossing which have caused concern for local residents.

These are expected to be complete by the end of February and the work will make way for the construction of the transport plan, which is programmed to start this summer and be completed early 2015.
