Yorkshire-based train operator East Coast is to run extra trains to take Bradford City fans to London as their club bids for Wembley glory later this month. The Bantams take on Swansea in the Capital One Cup Final on Sunday 24 February.
The through service starts from Bradford Forster Square at 09.10, calling only at Shipley (09.15), Leeds (09.42) and Wakefield Westgate (09.53), then non-stop to London King’s Cross, arriving at 12.06. An extra northbound service will also bring fans home, hopefully celebrating a Bantams victory.
The evening train leaves London King’s Cross at 20.50, setting down only at Wakefield Westgate (23.04), Leeds (23.30) and Shipley (23.49) and arriving at Bradford Forster Square at 23.58. Tickets for the additional services are on sale now, with lowest priced fares available exclusively online here
– East Coast spokesman John Gelson
East Coast’s extra services will be the quickest and easiest way for supporters to travel directly from Bradford city centre to the heart of London, in good time to enjoy the game – and we hope, to celebrate an historic cup win. Early indications are that hundreds of fans have already snapped up tickets on East Coast trains between Leeds and London on cup final day. We expect the direct trains to and from Bradford to sell out quickly, and advise supporters to reserve seats on the special trains now that tickets are on sale.
