The vicar conducting the funeral service for church organist Alan Greaves has spoken of the day "darkness walked the streets of High Green". But the Reverend Canon Simon Bessant said it was still a safe area and that the attack on Mr Greaves was thankfully "out of the ordinary.
Speaking before the service, Rev Bessant described Mr Greaves as a "much loved friend who was hugely respected and very well known in the community."
