Call for rise in Lincolnshire police tax

Lincolnshire's new Police and Crime Commissioner Alan Hardwick is asking the public to pay more tax to pay for the county's policing.

Mr Hardwick will put his case for a 2% rise in the council tax police precept at the **meeting of the Lincolnshire Police and Crime Panel at East Lindsey District Council's Manby Headquarters on Thursday, 7th February.

The Panel will consider whether to support or veto the proposed precept.

The Commissioner will also provide an update to the Panel on his key decisions and major developments since being elected as Commissioner in November 2012. **

The Panel is also required to review and make recommendations on the Commissioner's draft Police and Crime Plan. The Plan sets out the Commissioner's key objectives for policing and tackling crime in Lincolnshire.**
