Counselling offered to friends of dead climber

Leeds University are offering counselling to students affected by the death of a climber in the highlands of Scotland.

Graham Connell from Castleford was with a party of 35 climbers from the university, when the tragedy happened in the Cairngorms at the weekend.

We are sorry to learn of the death of one of our former students and our thoughts are with his family and friends. We are working with Leeds University Union and our counselling services to offer support to students who have been affected by this tragedy.

Leeds climbers tragedy

The hillwalker found dead after five others were rescued in the Scottish Highlands has been named by police. The body of Graham Connell, 31, from the Castleford area, was found at the Jacob's Ladder area of the Cairngorms.
