The GMB Union will hand a large Anti Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) to Amazon bosses at their Doncaster distribution centre today.
Amazon.co.uk is the British division of the firm and its accounts reveal that it did not pay a single penny of corporation tax in either 2010 or 2011.
It is estimated that Amazon's sales in the UK were around £2.8billion in 2010 which would have resulted in profits of around £125million. If corporation tax had been paid, charged at 28% in 2010, then they would have had a tax bill of £35million.
Tim Roache, Regional Secretary of the GMB said, "If these tax avoiding companies paid tax, just as decent hard working GMB members do, then the extra revenue coming into the treasury coffers would make the UK's budget cuts unnecessary."
