Less than a month after being launched, a fund for the children of a North Yorkshire police officer has already raised more than £14,000.
PC Andrew Bramma was tragically killed on 5 January 2013 when his police vehicle left the road and struck a tree in West Tanfield, near Ripon, as he was responding to an incident.
PC Bramma was the father of two young boys, Jack who is three, and Sam, whose first birthday falls this month.
Sgt Mike Stubbs, of North Yorkshire Police Federation, said: “We have been unable to acknowledge many of the donations. Some have been made direct to the fund’s bank account. Others have simply arrived as cheques with messages of condolence but no address."
