A spokesperson for Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust said: “We received an emergency call at 11.54 today to reports of a ‘balconycollapse’ at Casa Restaurant on Elland Road in Brighouse.
“We dispatched a number of resources to the scene including five ambulances, our Hazardous Area Response Team who are specially trained and equipped to respond to this type of incident, as well as the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and a doctor.
" One male patient has been airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary and four female patients have been transported by land ambulance to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. All sustained serious injuries but none are believed to be life-threatening at this time.”
