A new big wheel for Leeds officially opens to the public from today. Towering Taller than Nelsons Column at the dizzy height of nearly 60 metres, The Observation Wheel Leeds will be open daily to the public from 10am.
The wheel will be located at the open surface Markets Car Park between George Street and Union Street, just 100m from the main shopping street of Briggate. Passengers will be able to enjoy views over the roof tops and around the city of Leeds.
Leader of Leeds City Council Councillor Keith Wakefield said: "We are delighted to welcome this observation wheel to Leeds. It will offer a real bird's eye view of the city and for miles around. Together with the Ice Cube on Millennium Square, it is a great addition to the new tourism campaign."
