A man has been charged over the death of a pensioner who was attacked in his own home. Colin Hall, who was 76, died in hospital after the incident at Cornerpin Driver, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, near Mansfield. It is thought the attack happened as a result of a botched robbery.
Nottinghamshire Police have charged 39-year-old Scott Kennedy with manslaughter in connection with the death. Kennedy, of Hill View Road, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, is also charged with attempted robbery and a firearms offence.
A 33-year-old man who was arrested in connection with the death has been bailed pending further inquiries, a force spokeswoman said. Two other men arrested earlier as part of the investigation were released without charge last week.
