Pensioner gets three years for killing wife

An 80 year old Royal British Legion member who killed his wife at their home in Haworth has been sentenced to three years in prison.

Clement Callaghan had previously pleaded not guilty to the murder of his wife Eileen, who was 76, but guilty to her manslaughter. He was sentenced this afternoon at Bradford Crown Court.

Mrs Callaghan's body was found at the couple's home on Ivy Bank Lane in Haworth last August.
