Helping police fight crime

Police in Rotherham have seized a large quantity of cash and around £1000 worth of drugs, after a member of public reported suspicious behaviour of two men.

Police received a call from the member of public in the early afternoon of Tuesday, 19 March. They said that two men were acting suspiciously on Claremont Street, Rotherham.

Officers chased the men through streets and gardens in the area before they caught them and seized a large quantity of cash and drugs from them. They also searched a house where more cash was found.

The two men aged, 23 and 27 were arrested on suspicion of dealing drugs.

This is a great example of how the public can help the police catch offenders. Without the information from the member of public, we wouldn’t have known these two men were in the area. I would urge anybody with information or who suspects suspicious behaviour to always contact the police.
