Jamie McDonnell will get his first crack at a world title in May, and it'll take place in his home town of Doncaster.
The 26 year old will face Mexican Julio Ceja for the vacant IBF Bantamweight belt on Saturday, May 11th at Doncaster Rovers' Keepmoat Stadium.
Promoter Dennis Hobson is delighted with the news. "Both Jamie and I have long been determined for his world title fight to take place at his home stadium", he said.
McDonnell's lost just one of his 22 contests; Ceja has an unbeaten 24 fight record. It'll be his first fight outside Mexico.
