Hospitals could face further strikes

The mid Yorkshire Hospitals Trust could face further strike action after talks to resolve a dispute over pay and jobs broke down. There have been eight days of action and protests so far from admin and clerical staff at Pinderfields, Pontefract and Dewsbury hospitals.

The public sector union Unison says the pay cuts target some of the lowest paid staff. It will now ballot almost 3,000 members. The trust says it has to reduce its pay bill to make £24million pounds worth of savings.
