Former European champion and Olympian, Ryan Birch, has died after being involved in a road traffic accident in the Bahamas. The 43-year-old, who was from Hull represented Team GB at the 1992 Barcelona and 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
It has been reported that the rental car he was in was in collision with a truck in heavy rain close to Odyssey airport.
