New accommodation and treatment centre for Lincoln's rough sleepers

A new temporary accommodation and treatment centre is to be provided for Lincoln's rough sleepers. The council has agreed to contribute £125,000 to the development on the corner of Friars Lane and St Rumbold's Street.

This is a facility that is definitely needed in the city and we are delighted to be able to support this vital project.

The facility’s prime role is as a treatment centre where people can be put on programmes and while they are there they will be regularly tested for alcohol or drugs abuse.”

– Cllr Peter West, City of Lincoln Council

Residents at the centre will be closely monitored and supervised at all times. As well as taking part in their treatment programmes all service users will be expected to undertake a minimum of 16 hours of structured activity per week as a therapeutic tool and diversion away from alcohol.
