Ticket sales for the musical "Wicked", when it comes to Yorkshire next year, have broken box office records. They went on public sale yesterday at Leeds Grand Theatre and set a new Box Office record for an on-sale with 7607 booked. Ticket buyers had waited in line at the Box Office from 6.45am.

The previous record was held by The Phantom of the Opera with 6995 tickets booked on 9 February 2012.

Ian Sime, General Manager at The Grand Theatre said “We knew Wicked would be popular as it’s the first UK tour and we are the only Yorkshire venue but this exceeded our expectations.”
