Rugby League birthplace sold

The West Yorkshire hotel - famous for being the birthplace of Rugby League - has been sold. Twenty one clubs met at the George Hotel in Huddersfield in 1895 - to form the league.

It was presented with a plaque last year in recognition of it's connections to the game. It has now been bought for 9 hundred thousand pounds and will be renovated before being reopened to the public.
