Police station body named

North Yorkshire Police have named the man found dead outside Harrogate Police station at the weekend.

He was Paul Herbert Metson , 69, who was from Harrogate.

His body was found by an officer in the visitor’s car park on Sunday afternoon. A firearm was recovered from the scene.

The police revealed that the death was not being treated as suspicious and no-one else was being sought in connection with the incident.

The inquest into Mr Metson's death was opened and adjourned in Harrogate on Wednesday May 1st.
