Two men charged with murdering a convicted child-killer from Huddersfield will stand trial in September, a court has heard.
Gary David Smith and Lee William Newell are both accused of killing Subhan Anwar, who was found dead in February by staff at HMP Long Lartin in Worcestershire.
A post-mortem examination found the inmate, who was serving a life sentence for murdering a two-year-old girl, had a broken neck.
Anwar, from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, was jailed at Bradford Crown Court in 2009 for killing his partner's daughter, Sanam Navsarka.
A trial in the case, which is expected to last for up to three weeks and be heard before a High Court judge, is scheduled to begin on September 9.
