A former Sheffield University student who was told she might never talk or walk again wowed judges on Britain's Got Talent this weekend. Aliki Chrysochou got a standing ovation for her version of Evanescence's Wake Me Up Inside.

She was studying music when she was diagnosed with encephalitis - or inflammation of the brain. But she began singing, and eventually speaking again, before returning to her studies in South Yorkshire.
