A two-year conservation project, led by experts from York Archaeological Trust, is under way to preserve eight rare Bronze Age log boats discovered in a quarry near the Lincolnshire-Cambridgeshire border.

Video: Bronze Age boats preserved

For an archaeologist, finding one Bronze Age wooden boat would be considered a once in lifetime achievement, but experts from Yorkshire found eight hidden in a quarry back in 2011.

Now the 4 thousand year old boats are being preserved using techniques that were also used on the Tudor warship the Mary Rose. Ben Erlam has this report.
