The death of a four-year-old girl in Grimsby is being treated as unexplained.
A 34-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man, who were arrested in connection with the incident, both remain in custody.
Humberside Police were contacted at approximately 10am on Sunday after being alerted by medical staff at hospital that the girl had been admitted with serious injuries.
The child was later transferred to Sheffield Children's Hospital in a critical condition where she died.
