South Yorkshire Police have charged 35-year-old John Derek Bush from Askern near Doncaster with child abduction and making off without payment.
He went missing last week with a 14-year-old girl who was found "safe and well" in London on Friday afternoon after being spotted by an off-duty officer.
The teenager is now in the care of the local authority.
John Bush is due to appear at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court tomorrow morning Monday 17th June.
