Mobile fingerprint device for West Yorkshire Police

A new mobile fingerprint device is being rolled out across West Yorkshire. The Mobile ID BlueCheck gadget will allow police officers to take fingerprints at the roadside, allowing them to confirm a person's identity within minutes.

Officers say it will help them catch criminals who are using false identities. It will also allow them to identify unconscious people and notify relatives more quickly.

These devices will ensure that people are quickly identified and if needed arrested, saving valuable officer time and allowing them to maintain a more visible presence on the streets of West Yorkshire. Criminals can also forget the idea of providing false details because this equipment will identify them"
